Buying Guide
Scooters Part 1
Which Stunt Scooter Should You Choose?
There’s no single right answer. The choice isn’t simple or obvious.
When looking at a scooter description you usually get: deck size, bar height, compression system, material, wheels, grips, color and some extra marketing fluff like: “We build every scooter with you in mind, and our pro riders test them for you.”
Nice to know the whole crew is involved. But what does that really mean for you? Not much.
The first step is knowing what you want. And where you’ll ride most — skatepark, street, or both?
So let’s take it step by step. Ask yourself the first question:
Do I care about solid gear made from high-quality materials?
Yes? Well, I usually do. So think about it!
Where to Buy a Stunt Scooter?
Look for a store that specializes in stunt gear.
When you buy a set from a pro scooter shop (not a supermarket ⛔️, not from Zenek’s stall ⛔️, or similar places ⛔️) you know you’re getting quality gear. From the best brands 🏆.

How Much Does a Good Stunt Scooter Cost? 💲💲💲
A cheap scooter won’t be good, and a good scooter won’t be cheap. 👌👌
“You get what you pay for” fits scooters perfectly.
Another saying: buy cheap, pay twice. Save on a scooter now, and you’ll spend more on replacing parts — or end up buying two.
A decent set starts at around 120 EUR. The higher the price, the lighter and more pro-level the parts.
What’s the Right Height for a Freestyle Scooter?
The key to a good scooter is the right size.
In product descriptions you may see two values:
👉 Total scooter height — from the ground to the top of the bars.
👉 Bar height — from the deck to the top of the bars.
For you, the easiest is total height. Measure from the ground up to your hip line. That’s about the height your scooter should be.
A well-matched scooter means no hunching, no back pain, and easier tricks.

In the table below you can check the recommended scooter height for your body height and age. Simplified: if you’re 126–138 cm tall, your scooter should be 65–79 cm high. But body proportions differ, so better measure than rely only on age or height.
| Height | Age | Recommended scooter height |
|---|---|---|
| 95–112 cm | 3–5 years | Up to 70 cm |
| 112–126 cm | 5–7 years | 60–75 cm |
| 126–138 cm | 7–9 years | 65–79 cm |
| 138–149 cm | 9–11 years | 75–80 cm |
| 149–160 cm | 11–13 years | 75–85 cm |
| 160 - 172 cm | 13 -15 years | 78–85cm |
| 172 + cm | 15 + years | Up to 79 cm |
What Deck Length Should a Stunt Scooter Have?
The deck can’t be too long — you’ll hit it everywhere while doing tricks. Too short and you won’t fit.
As a beginner, go for a deck that fits about 1.5 of your feet. Shorter decks are lighter and spin faster, while longer ones are more stable — great if you ride to school.
If you’re smaller and lighter, pick a more compact scooter.
Stunt Scooter Bar Width
Both too small and too wide bars can be uncomfortable. You can trim grips to make them narrower — many riders do that when they can’t find the perfect fit.
At first, focus on the right bar height. The width can be adjusted later. ;)
How Much Should a Good Stunt Scooter Weigh? 💪💪💪
It depends. The lighter the scooter, the more skills you need. Weight also depends on the build and style.
Street pro scooters are heavier with bigger boxed decks. Park stunt scooters are lighter. For beginners, 3.2–3.5 kg is a good range.
What Materials Are Stunt Scooters Made From?
Most are made from aluminum or Cr-Mo steel. The lightest ones are all aluminum. Many good sets mix: aluminum deck with steel bars.
Stunt Scooter Compression System
There are several types, each with pros and cons. For beginners, it doesn’t matter much — as long as you buy from a trusted brand.
Who Makes the Best Stunt Scooters?
Does the brand matter? Absolutely!
Good brands don’t sell on random stalls. They have pro riders on their teams testing the gear before it goes into production. If the description says “tested by riders” — it’s been through some serious trials.
You can check top brands on social media, on Facebook or Instagram. Every serious brand is there. 🥇🥇🥇
