The HIC compression system (Hidden Internal Compression) was created in 2007 by the Mosbrucker brothers from RADskoot.Co for oversize scooter bars.
This system is less popular because you cannot use it with aluminum scooter bars. This is especially important if you care about having a lightweight stunt scooter. Steel scooter bars compatible with HIC are heavier.
When buying an HIC scooter fork, remember that this compression system only fits bars with an inner diameter of 31.8 mm and an outer diameter of 34.9 mm. An HIC bar must also have a slit that allows the compression to work properly.
For an HIC fork, you need an oversize clamp.
The biggest advantage of the HIC compression system is the strong connection between the fork and the scooter bar. This mounting is durable and does not tend to loosen. The HIC system is also easy to install: just loosen the clamp and remove the bar, while the headset remains in place.

FAQ – HIC Forks
What is an HIC fork?
An HIC fork is designed for the Hidden Internal Compression system. It connects the deck and bars and provides a strong, durable front end for stunt scooters.
Which handlebars fit an HIC fork?
Only oversize bars with 34.9 mm outer and 31.8 mm inner diameter fit correctly. The bar must have a slit so the clamp can tighten on the fork.
Can I use aluminum or titanium bars with HIC?
Aluminum bars are generally not compatible with HIC because the required 31.8 mm inner and 34.9 mm outer diameter with a slit is rarely achievable in aluminum. Titanium bars can work if they meet these dimensions and include a slit, however most riders choose chromoly steel for HIC because of proven strength and lower cost.
What clamp do I need for an HIC fork?
You need an oversize clamp that matches 34.9 mm bars. Make sure the clamp height and hardware are compatible with your setup.
What wheels and axles work with HIC forks?
Most HIC forks support wheels 100–125 mm in diameter and 24 mm wide. Some models accept 30 mm wheels with spacers. Standard 8 mm axles are common, check the product page if you want 12STD compatibility.
How often should I service an HIC fork?
Check the compression bolt and clamp screws every few sessions. Keep the headset bearings clean and lightly greased for smooth steering.
