FAQ – Stunt Scooter Brakes

Are scooter brakes universal?

No. Brakes must match the wheel diameter, deck type and mounting hole spacing. Always check your deck’s specs before buying.

What wheel sizes do stunt scooter brakes fit?

Most brakes are designed for specific wheel diameters, commonly 100 mm, 110 mm or 120 mm. Check the product description and be sure your deck has the right clearance for your wheel size.

What’s the difference between a flex fender and a spring brake?

A flex fender is a single steel plate that bends to slow the wheel, light and silent. A spring brake uses a separate spring for easier pressing but can rattle slightly and adds a bit of weight.

How do I know if a brake will fit my deck?

Measure the spacing of the mounting holes on your deck and compare it with the brake’s bolt pattern. Also check that the brake clears the wheel size you ride.

Can I ride without a brake?

Yes. Many street riders go brakeless for more foot space and cleaner tricks. If you remove the brake, use a deck plug or fender to protect the wheel and keep the deck park friendly.

When should I replace a scooter brake?

Replace the brake when it’s cracked, bent or no longer springs back correctly. Heavy street riders often need a new brake once or twice per season.
